Anyway - it turned out this was a wiring harness fault (known by Citroen) and I believe it gets snagged under one of the seats and triggers a fault.

Looks like the suspension fault has reared its ugly head on my car. Have a 57 plate C4GP exclusive. Initially it appeared to be pumping up randomly. Then came up with suspension fault message. Rear dropped and now won't raise. Going to local garage for diagnosis today.
